Shiny anthropomorphic bear holding fish salt and pepper shakers

Not technically lusterware, but these bears have a shiny almost metallic glossy finish.  Although striking, this finish is fragile and is frequently found with multiple blemishes.

Three sets completes this series of anthropomorphic bears striking various poses with their catch of the day.  The sets are Japan imports from the 1950s and have Japan paper labels with wooden corks on the bottom.

This series can be found originally documented on page 29 of The Big Book of Salt and Pepper Shakers Series by Irene Thornburg.
