There are five different tall (6'') dressed animals in this series that was originally documented by Irene Thornburg in her second book on salt & pepper shaker series. Although they have the quality and characteristics of PY/Miyao sets, none of the sets in the database are marked PY - instead Irene only noted in her book that they have red and gold "Made in Japan" stickers. And although that is true, they have other markings. Interestingly the rabbits and foxes are stamped "6935", while the other three sets are stamped "320". This is unusual for a series to have different serial/model numbers. But until we find any other shakers to include in this group, we think they look similar enough to keep together as one series just as Irene originally thought. Circa 1950s-60s.
