Jean Grief was a private ceramicist in the 1990s from Weaverville, California.  She'd purchase molds and handmade hundreds of different novelty salt and pepper shakers.  On page 63 of one of her old catalogs (shown to the right) was listed these "Girls Of the Month Collector's Sets".  They are fairly tall - standing up to 5.5'' in height.  The sets we have are all marked "Jean Grief" on the bottoms with her characteristic small clear plastic stoppers.

Although Jean appears to have paired them up with a single catalog number and named them (or the molds already had names), she didn't indicate which months were exactly which - but we made a fairly good educated guess.

Upon request, Jean made this series as black girls.  Ten out of twelve of the black girls representing each month are represented below.  Not sure what happened to the missing two months, but these sets have Jean Grief's characteristic glittered finish to them.
