Although this series was first described by Irene Thornburg in her second reference book about shaker series called "The Big Book of Salt & Pepper Shaker Series" on page 139, she left out a recently discovered set of police officer type clown-like strange fellows.
Now, this possibly complete series, consists of four sets of strange clown-like fellows - police officers, firefighters, monks, and men on barrels. Each set stands 4.5'' high, is stamped in black "Japan", and have 3 and 2 pour holes. Circa 1950s.
